i honestly can't believe it took me this long to blog our Epic PNW vacation. thankfully the reason is, that i've been busy with photoshoots every weekend since we've been back, so i can't really complain. ;)
we flew into portland late at night, tired, hungry and ready to stretch our legs. Chris's brother picked us up from the airport with a truck full of snacks, beverages, his adorable doggie, Lyra and plenty of leg room. we had lots to catch up on and a long ride ahead of us (to the beach house we were all staying at), so it made the dark, 2 hour car ride go quickly.
as soon as we arrived to the beach house we were greeted by family and friends with open arms. everyone was exhausted so we chatted for a bit before hitting the hay. the next morning chris and i woke up before everyone else (thanks to jet lag) and decided to take Lyra to the beach for a morning walk.
(most of these were taken with my Canon 6D and 50mm lens, but theres a good handful taken with my phone, i'm sure you can tell which are which ;) )
after everyone was showered and fed the next morning, we headed out to explore the area around our beach house and Canon Beach (Goonies!). we were obviously in oregon during the rainy season, and as you can probably tell from the pictures, it was very gloomy, cold, windy and misty and sometimes VERY rainy. but somehow that just added to the whole oregon experience and didn't put a damper (no pun intended) on things. it also helped we came prepared with all the rain gear we owned.
the next morning chris and i decided to head to the beach again with Lyra before everyone woke up and look for seashells. my favorite past time.
after the beach, i decided to take some shots around our cute little beach house, everything in oregon is covered in moss which makes the simplest things look magical.
